Beginners' Day

Where's the printer? What's a good place to get lunch? Who sits where? Starting any new job is difficult. So we spend a day to help you find your feet. You get active support and training about our products, work processes, organization and technological infrastructure.

Company culture

Our air conditioning system ensures the air's always fresh – but the great atmosphere is a result of our open, fair corporate culture. To find out the difference it makes, come and experience it for yourself.

Offices

You'll be working in bright, spacious offices. Open planning and extensive use of glass enables easy communication between rooms. As a developer, you have the choice of using a laptop or a desktop computer, and naturally you'll have state-of-the-art software tools.

Chill-out

For a well-earned break in a busy day: our chill-out room offers space for relaxation. It's our kitchen, café, reading room, sports room and space to sozialize. Play a round of table soccer or darts, pratice the drums or enjoy a cappuccino. Every Thursday after 6 pm, members of the CoreMedia team collect for our weekly informal get-together.

CoreVadis

What's the latest news in the company? You can find out simply by attending CoreVadis, our information event, held once a month on a Friday by the managing directors. Every member of staff is welcome to attend.

Parties

Once a year we throw a big summer party for all members of staff, their partners and kids, as well as our business partners. In winter we also organize a classic Christmas party.

Complementary drinks

Thirsty? Then simply visit our drinks storeroom for fast refreshment. There's always plenty of mineral water for everyone – and all for free.

After-work

When it's time to relax after work, our in-house band "Rockstar" regularly practices in our offices; new band members are always welcome. Our running team as well as our cycling team is always looking for new members.

Contributing

New ideas are generated by Peer Groups and Open Space workshops. These initiatives are turned into projects by successfully passing a “Waterhole” Meeting and the ensuing project milestones are then presented at Poster Sessions . Acting as a member of the “Sounding Board” you can take part in management strategy workshops and give the Management Team your feedback and suggestions. You are also invited to attend Monday’s jour fixe for management.

Children’s Day

On one afternoon a year, CoreMedia plays host to your children. In 2008, around 30 children looked over Mum’s or Dad’s shoulder while they were working, and attended the same meetings.

Location

Our offices are ideally located between Hamburg city center, the harbor and St. Pauli. Directly opposite our offices stands the Michel, Hamburg's famous church. And just around the corner, on the picturesque Grossneumarkt square, you can visit any number of restaurants and cafés, each offering a diverse lunch menu. Public transport is excellent: the Rödingsmarkt underground station and Stadthausbrücke rail stations are just a few minutes' walk away. When it's time for a night on the town, the famous Reeperbahn is close by.

Massage

Working with a computer is a highly cerebral activity. To ensure your body doesn't feel neglected, we offer the professional services of our in-house masseur.

Mobility

All staff members receive a complimentary annual pass for Hamburg's public transport system.

Sabbatical

Need a break? CoreMedia offers sabbatical options for longer periods of time off work.

Trust-based working hours

CoreMedia follows a trust-based system of working hours for employees. That means, you're responsible for ensuring that you fulfil you contractually-agreed working times.

Professional training

Knowledge is our most valuable asset. We believe that regular employee training is essential to the success of our company. Together with your supervisor, you define your own individual training program, using both external facilities as well as our own in-house training center.

Working together

Technical questions need networks to solve them. And networking has to be learned. CoreMedia has set itself a sustainable learning program, based on its standards of working together. This contains a whole range of methods and tools, which are introduced in workshops and trained in the normal process of daily work.

Culture of innovation

In June 2004, A.T. Kearny, a global management consulting firm, and Wirtschaftswoche, one of Germany's leading business magazines, presented CoreMedia with the "Best Innovator" award for our unique culture of innovation. It's a fundamental element of our organization.
