The e-mail newsletter is a standard tool for customer relations, but administrative burden increases with the number of registered users. Registration is often via a simple e-mail message to an individual who manually updates the database, and creates and sends out the newsletter with another tool. Result: the costs exceed the benefit.
The Newsletter Management System enables complete mapping of the newsletter workflow with CoreMedia. Users subscribe and unsubscribe on the customer website, and data is stored in an SQL database. The newsletter itself is created and updated directly in CoreMedia Editor with a special document type. This offers the following options:
Mailing is handled by publication of the document, with only those documents in the Outbox folder being sent. This allows the creation of any number of newsletters in advance. The mailing date can be controlled using the publication date. At the end of a mailing cycle, a status mail is generated which gives a survey of the newsletters that have gone out. All sent newsletters are automatically moved to the “Sent” folder.
