Other CeBIT Highlights Include eGovernment Solution for BundOnline 2005 and CoreMedia DRM

Hamburg/Hanover, 2nd March 2005 – CoreMedia is debuting the new version of its content management system, CoreMedia CMS 2005, at this year’s CeBIT telecoms and IT trade fair in Hanover, Germany, from 10th to 16th March in Hall 3, Stand D09. The new CoreMedia CMS 2005 offers a wealth of improvements and enhanced functionalities over the previous version, positioning the product as a strategic content management tool. In addition to an array of new technical components, including a high-performance search functionality and Business Logic, the next-generation system features a completely re-designed WebEditor. The user-guidance structure of the new user interface is based on the Longhorn User Experience which is planned for launch by Microsoft in 2006. The newly designed WebEditor enables users to manage information in CoreMedia CMS 2005 even faster and more effectively than before.

A further highlight at this year’s CeBIT is the successful Government Site Builder – the standard technology for accessible eGovernment applications, based on proven CoreMedia CMS technology. CoreMedia’s content management solutions are already the recommended technology for the German Federal government and other public-sector administrative bodies. These systems, developed and customized to fulfill the needs of public administration, are one of the special focuses of CoreMedia’s stand at CeBIT.

The new features of CoreMedia CMS 2005

Completely redesigned with an innovative new look and feel and improved usability, the WebEditor is one of the central features of the new version of CoreMedia CMS. This is coupled with the high-performance search engine feature from FAST™ InStream™. FAST™ delivers comprehensive search functionality: speedy searches of large amounts of data, exploiting high levels of parallelism, plus fast updating of indices following changes. In addition, a powerful new Business Logic component enables the production of highly dynamic Web applications, and simplifies the integration of third-party systems such as ERP or other business applications. The extremely flexible Web Services Engine makes it possible to offer a functionality as a Web service. The new Multi-Site Management enhancement and a universal program interface permits efficient use of resources and delivers significant cost savings, together with improved performance.

Government Site Builder

CoreMedia’s Government Site Builder is a multi-client CMS solution that is based on CoreMedia CMS and specially tailored to the needs of public-sector administration. The accessible eGovernment application is the recommended standard software for content management systems, within the German federal governments SAGA (Standards and Architectures for eGovernment Applications) guidelines, and BundOnline 2005, a strategic eGoverment initiative. The Government Site Builder was developed by CoreMedia’s Platinum Partner, Materna, following the specifications of the federal government and with the support of CoreMedia.

CoreMedia DRM

A further focal point of the CoreMedia exhibition at the 2005 CeBIT is CoreMedia’s solution for digital rights management. CoreMedia DRM was selected by Vodafone, the world’s largest mobile communications services provider, as the DRM system for Vodafone live! – the new global UMTS service launched late last year. CoreMedia DRM enables businesses to protect premium content from unauthorized access, and offers a secure and convenient delivery platform for high-value digital content in a wide range of formats. The CoreMedia DRM solution was developed in accordance with the open DRM standards of the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) and is Java-based.
