CoreMedia is the lead Content Management System for the TV broadcaster
CoreMedia, the content technology experts, today announced that its Smart Content Technology was selected as the platform for the multilingual Internet site of the European culture television station ARTE. The site, www.arte-tv.com, offers a program guide, multimedia articles, and background information, as well as various interactive and communication services in both German and French language versions. The multilingual Internet site is implemented by Capgemini and uses CoreMedia’s Smart Content Technology. Multi-Website Management makes it possible to produce, manage and co-ordinate multilingual websites with brand-specific and country-specific layout, using one central system. “A particular strength of our system is the simple presentation of demanding websites in as many language versions as required. The cultural integration of Europe through high-quality program content – which is what ARTE stands for – is taken a step closer to realization, thanks to Smart Content Technology from CoreMedia,” said Sören Stamer, CEO and founder of CoreMedia AG. The seamless integration of television production’s third-party systems into the website is made effortless through the extensibility of Smart Content Technology. In future, the ARTE TV program will be integrated into the website directly from the central internal planning system. The linear scalability of Multi Website Management enables simple and efficient realization of small theme-specific portals, complete with their own sub-navigation, such as the ARTE magazine, or the ARTE Shop, which will be launched soon. The navigation can be tailored to suit the requirements of each new microsite. The online editorial team has control over the configuration of the entire site, and enjoys a maximum of flexibility for determining the structure of the website. “Following the relaunch, we’ll be able to offer our users up-to-date content, while simplifying administration processes and improving our workflow,” said Sabrina Nennstiel, head of multimedia at ARTE. Other media companies are also using CoreMedia’s Smart Content Technology for their Internet presence. Smart Content Technology delivers the infrastructure for the Olympia Internet port of ARD, Germany’s national broadcaster, as well as for Sport1.de, BILD.t-online and the website of German sports channel, DSF.
