Content management: fast, direct and up-to-date

Managing content more easily

CoreMedia CMS manages all types of content regardless of whether it is text, product data, news or unstructured documents (e. g. Word, PDF, videos, music, etc.). CoreMedia CMS is the only content management system based on a semantic information model, i. e. content is not structured on the basis of files, pages or technical formats, but on its textual importance. CoreMedia allows any number of content types to be defined for this purpose. Content types are structured in various attributes, including headlines, teaser texts, images, documents etc. Content can also comprize binary data types such as Word documents and PDF files.

Store once, use many

Pages or documents in CoreMedia CMS are predominantly made up of references to other objects. The content objects can therefore be reused in any number of structures and arrangements on several pages. Since CoreMedia CMS only stores each content object once and can use and display it at various locations, once a content object has been updated, it is also automatically updated throughout the system. This ensures that content is always consistent within a system.

Content and form stored separately

In addition to the content objects, CoreMedia CMS also manages structure, layout and control objects. Layout objects determine how the page is displayed. Structure objects define the allocation of the entire content set in the content model. Control objects influence editorial processes, e. g. whether content is only to be displayed on national websites or whether it is also to be automatically published on an international website. CoreMedia CMS flexibly adapts to user requirements. Users can adapt their content models to new requirements at any time.

Internal links automatically updated

Internal links are stored as references and updated automatically. Renaming or moving content objects in the directory tree does not affect internal links as all references to renamed or moved objects are updated automatically. If documents are deleted, the server checks the consistency of the content and makes sure that there are no dead links.
