What is ReadSpeaker?

ReadSpeaker makes websites, RSS feeds and blogs talk. The voice sounds human and pleasant. ReadSpeaker is very easy in its use and implementation. It requires neither plug-ins nor special software on the user PC. ReadSpeaker reads not only HTML, but also XML, Word, RTF and PDF documents. It is compatible with all browsers and transmission rates of 56 Kbps and above. ReadSpeaker is implemented very quickly.

Since when does ReadSpeaker exist?

The development of ReadSpeaker began in 1999 in Uppsala, Sweden. The vision of the managing director of Phoneticom AB, Niclas Bergström, and the head of R&D, Fredrik Larsson, and their colleagues was to develop tools to make the “miracle of the Internet” accessible also to social groups that are less privileged. Among those are dyslectics, non-mothertongue people and senior citizens (in total more than 20% of the population). ReadSpeaker is represented in the German speaking part of Europe since early 2004 with now close to 100 references.

Our target groups

The primary target groups for ReadSpeaker products are shifting today more and more to mobile people and multitaskers. Mobile people want to consume information independent from time and place. This is much easier with an MP3 player or MP3 phone than with texts. The choice of texts is much larger, however, than produced audio. Thanks to ReadSpeaker all texts can be transferred to audio automatically and instantly. That enables our customers to offer a huge amount of information in audio format.
