CoreMedia enters Chinese mobile market

3GSM: CoreMedia enters emerging Chinese mobile market – TechFaith Software selects CoreMedia

Barcelona/Hamburg, February 08, 2007 – CoreMedia, the global provider of software solutions for convergent content business, today announced that TechFaith Software, one of the largest handset application software and handset providers based in Beijing, has selected the CoreMedia DRM Client Conformance Test Tool (CTT). TechFaith uses CoreMedia DRM CTT to check their DRM agent implementation against all OMA DRM 2.0 client conformance tests. Conformance testing with CoreMedia DRM CTT is the first step to full interoperability with OMA DRM 2.0. The CoreMedia software, which is the exclusive reference implementation for OMA (Open Mobile Alliance), reduces time to market costs.

CoreMedia DRM CTT provides a complete DRM environment for testing devices against the CoreMedia DRM ROAP Server, which fully supports the spec revision as officially approved in March 2006. The software interacts both with mobiles and with PCs, so test reports can also be viewed and commented on using a more convenient PC interface.

Headquartered in Beijing, TechFaith, www.techfaithwireless.com, designs and develops mobile handset software and design solutions for its customers. Since its founding in July 2002, TechFaith has built the largest and most advanced handset R&D team in China, and the company's software development capabilities lead the handset outsourcing industry. TechFaith maintains offices in Shanghai, Shenzhen, and San Diego. TechSoft, the Company’s newly established entity with Qualcomm’s capital investment is focusing on the development of application software for wireless devices.

For interoperability testing, CoreMedia also provides the acclaimed CoreMedia IOP Test Server, which delivers end-to-end testing and is an invaluable resource for vendors and operators to check their end-to-end conformance and product viability in use with OMA Enablers.

Both test tools enable the continuous testing of mobile products and services against the world’s most deployed DRM server, the CoreMedia DRM Platform, which sets the benchmark in interoperability worldwide. Many of the world’s top handset manufacturers use CoreMedia test tools to match the requirements for deploying powerful 3G/UMTS services.
