OMA

CoreMedia IOP testing for worldwide standards

The client: The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA)

The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) delivers open specifications that ensure service interoperability across devices, networks, operators and geographies. Open Mobile Alliance members include key players and companies from all parts of the mobile business value chain.

The challenge: One binding test environment and reference implementation for all OMA Test Fest participants

Interoperability plays a decisive role in an industry that is defined by standards. Manufacturers of clients (e.g. suppliers of handset devices or media players) regularly invest in the implementation of OMA DRM functionalities in their products. "Test Fests" are events run by the OMA at which a broad range of companies from various sectors come together to test their products and solutions for exactly this interoperability. OMA Test Fests require a test environment that offers reliable, proven performance. In addition, the OMA needs a system which can carry out preliminary checks of prospective devices, to see whether they meet the basic prerequisites for taking part in the Test Fest.

The solution: CoreMedia DRM Test Server sets the standard for Test Fests

The OMA chose the CoreMedia DRM Test Server to be the exclusive test environment for all OMA Test Fests. The CoreMedia DRM Test Server enables OMA members and non-members to verify that their models, applications and services are interoperable within the OMA specifications. To maximize the scope of the interoperability tests for each participant in the official OMA Test Fests, CoreMedia DRM Test Server provides automated test procedures. The CoreMedia DRM Test Server highlights CoreMedia's unique position in the area of mobile DRM. CoreMedia DRM plays a key role in setting global benchmarks for interoperability.
