T-Systems, one of Europe's leading service providers for information and communication technology, has converted its entire corporate intranet to CoreMedia CMS. With more than 50,000 users, the T-Systems internal information and communication platform is one of Europe's largest. The implementation was carried out by CoreMedia's Platinum Partner, T-Systems Multimedia Solutions. The project presented the challenge of developing a standardized intranet for the entire company, which would enable staff to access what they needed with as few clicks as possible, and to find all important information without extensive searching. Following its relaunch, this unique intranet portal is remarkably easier to use and more clearly structured. Users profit from the intuitive interface design. A specially tailored, dedicated help portal is available for the site's 500 editors. Throughout the implementation process, the use of new concepts and innovative technologies played a leading role. Outstanding characteristics of the new intranet include the consistent use of XML technologies, automatic PDF generation of content, and the use of a high-performance search engine. "The execution of the project was exemplary. The relaunch was completed on time and within the budget," said Ralph Kiesewetter, of T-Systems Corporate Marketing & Communications, the head of the relaunch project. Thanks to its modular architecture, the intranet can easily be expanded when, for example, the corporate organization develops further. Because CoreMedia CMS is multi-client capable, any number of new layers can be installed as required and without extensive programming. The intranets for T-Systems' national subsidiaries will thus be operated from the same system. "Integrating processes, sharing knowledge, working together – in the information society, the intranet is a central work medium within companies. Communication and documentation are becoming decisive factors for success. The T-Systems intranet is an impressive example of the global networking of knowledge. We're very happy that CoreMedia CMS is delivering the basis for this," stated Sören Stamer, founder and CEO of CoreMedia.
